Bathinda, May 4

Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) candidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira’s son Mehtab Khaira campaigned for his father in around a dozen villages of Bathinda (rural) assembly segment on Saturday.

While addressing the public, Mehtab Khaira alleged that 70 years had passed but the successive governments had failed to provide even basic amenities as people did not have clean drinking water, drains and sewerage in various areas till date.

Lashing out at the SAD, Mehtab said Badals made tall claims that they had done so much for Bathinda, but the villages in the district did not have medical and education facilities. People here had faced apathy of both the governments, he stated.

Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s son Arjun Badal also campaigned in favour of Congress candidate Amrinder Singh Raja Warring in the city. He held meetings at Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Paras Ram Nagar, Dhobi Bazaar and Chandsar Basti.

SAD leader Jagmeet Singh Brar also campaigned in the city in favour of SAD candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
