Labour unions continue protest

BATHINDA: Labour unions, under the banner of Joint Platform for Rural and Agriculture Workers Union, today continued their protest today over their demands to bring an end to the ‘black laws’ imposed by the government that prohibit the common man to protest peacefully, to demand increase in wages of MNREGA up to Rs 500 per day and employment to all members of a family.

Labour unions, under the banner of Joint Platform for Rural and Agriculture Workers Union, today continued their protest today over their demands to bring an end to the ‘black laws’ imposed by the government that prohibit the common man to protest peacefully, to demand increase in wages of MNREGA up to Rs 500 per day and employment to all members of a family.

They also demanded Rs 3,000 per month under social security pension and possession of five marla plots allotted to labourers, besides an amount of Rs 3 lakh each to labourers for construction of houses.
