Bathinda, April 24

Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) candidate from the Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who is also the president of the Punjabi Ekta Party (PEP) president, interacted with morning walkers at Rose Garden here on Wednesday.

Interacting with them, Khaira said, “Both traditional parties — SAD and Congress — have ruled the state for the past many years, but they have not been able to provide basic amenities till date.”

He appealed to people to reject the traditional parties and give him a chance to serve and work for the state.

Khaira said, “Development can’t take place by just constructing malls and a few buildings. It can be gauged from the smile on everyone’s face.”

Taking on Congress candidate Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Khaira said, “Warring has been doing a drama by having food with poor families for the past two days. He is trying to show that the Congress is with the poor, but I want to ask them if this is the case, why the party has failed to eradicate poverty in the country till date as it has ruled for many years.”

He will file his nomination papers on April 26.
