JE arrested for firing at wife, son

BATHINDA: The Canal Colony police on Wednesday arrested Pawan Kumar Garg, a junior engineer (JE) with the Powercom, who was booked by the police for allegedly firing at his wife and son by his licensed revolver at Gopal Nagar.

The Canal Colony police on Wednesday arrested Pawan Kumar Garg, a junior engineer (JE) with the Powercom, who was booked by the police for allegedly firing at his wife and son by his licensed revolver at Gopal Nagar.

A case was registered under Section 307 of the IPC and 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Accused Pawan Kumar was arrested from Gopal Nagar. The police will produce him in the court tomorrow and will seek his remand as they have to recover the weapon.

Devender Singh, SHO of the Canal Colony police station, confirmed the development.

He said acting on a tip-off, a police team led by ASI Mukhtiar Singh arrested him this evening. Police officials are interrogating the accused. Renu Garg, wife of Pawan Kumar, has lodged a complaint stating that her husband had been mentally upset for the past some time and on Sunday morning, he attempted to kill her and her son Sahil as he fired three round on them. — TNS
