Bathinda: A man was crushed under a train on the Bathinda-Delhi railway line near Tungwali village in the district. The deceased has been identified as Inderjit Singh (55) of Tungwali village itself.

Bathinda: A man was crushed under a train on the Bathinda-Delhi railway line near Tungwali village in the district. The deceased has been identified as Inderjit Singh (55) of Tungwali village itself. The incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday. Village residents informed members of a city-based NGO, who reached the spot and found the mutilated body of a man lying on the railway track. The NGO members intimated the GRP police. The railway police sent the body for a post-mortem examination to the Civil Hospital. The police said the possibility of suicide could not be ruled out as of now. TNS 

BCA Student gets job in MNC

Bathinda: A BCA student of the Baba Farid Group of Institutions was hired as Associate Analyst in Deloitte, a reputed MNC, recently. The recruitment process included an online test, followed by a personal interview. The panel asked technical questions from various fields and judged communication skills, computer knowledge and general knowledge of students. After the final round of interview, the recruitment panel selected Paras Singla of BCA (Semester V) as Associate Analyst, with a package of 3.82 lakh per annum. Deloitte is one of the “Big Four” accounting organisations and the largest professional services network in the world by revenue and number of professionals. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman of the BFGI, congratulated the student on his achievement. TNS

Honorary DLitt for Prof Uppal

Malout: The International Peace University honoured Dr RK Uppal with honorary DLitt during a convocation function held recently in Puducherry. Dr Uppal, an associate professor of economics at DAV College, Malout, is known as a doyen of the subject. He claims to have authored/edited more than seventy books. Earlier, he was awarded with honorary DLitt by Business University, Costa Rica, in 2014. TNS
