IAF man from Bengal dies in road mishap

BATHINDA: A 27-year-old man died in a road accident on the Malout road on Saturday late evening. The deceased has been identified as Satyanarayan Chaterjee, who originally hailed from West Bengal and was serving in the Indian Air Force.

A 27-year-old man died in a road accident on the Malout road on Saturday late evening. The deceased has been identified as Satyanarayan Chaterjee, who originally hailed from West Bengal and was serving in the Indian Air Force.

He was driving a motorcycle with a pillion rider to the Bhisiana Air Force station.

When he reached near Tata Motor showroom, his motorcycle hit stray cattle. After losing balance, the vehicle hit a road divider.

Satyanarayan sustained fatal wounds and was taken to the Civil Hospital, but he was declared brought dead.

The pillion rider, identified as Kamruddin of Chennai, sustained minor injuries.

Rajveer Singh, station house officer, Thermal police station, said, “We have conducted the post-mortem and registered a case under Section 174 of the CRPC.” — TNS
