GGS Public School students shine in debate competition

Eight schools participated in the Sardar Harpal Singh Memorial debate contest organised by General Gurnam Singh (GGS) Public School, Sangrur, here on Saturday. Poonam Sood, Principal, DPS Sangrur, was the chief guest. 

GGS Public School was adjudged the overall winner of debate competition. Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur, got the second place whereas the British Co-Ed High School, Patiala, won the third position and the fourth position went to Kaintal School, Patiala.

“If we want to inculcate self-confidence among our students, such competitions are must because during these competitions, students learn how to speak instantly. Today we really saw intense debate between various schools,” said SV Kumar, Director, GGS Public School. Gobans Singh was declared the best speaker.  Chief guest Sood gave trophies to the winners and also asked all students to regularly participate in such debates.
