The Mansa police on Thursday busted a gang involved in duping people by taking out the gas from LPG cylinders and selling them off at the reduced weight.

As per a release issued here, the police have also recovered 43 LPG cylinders and the vehicle used for supply of cylinders from their possession. SSP Narinder Bhargav said they used to take out gas from filled LPG cylinders and sell them off after putting up the seal once again. A case under Section 420 of the IPC and Section 7 of the EC Act has been registered against them. The recovery was made from a house located on Thuthiawali road following a tip-off. The accused have been identified as Jeewan Kumar, Tinku Kumar and Gopal Kumar.

They were busy taking out the gas from LPG cylinders when the police conducted the raid. They would often supply these LPG cylinders to dhabas and hotels.
