Four held for murder

BATHINDA: Four persons have been arrested on the charge of murder. The police have also recovered 45 goats, which were stolen after the murder of Gurcharan Singh at Gurusar village in the Bhagta Bhaika area on Monday evening.

Four persons have been arrested on the charge of murder. The police have also recovered 45 goats, which were stolen after the murder of Gurcharan Singh at Gurusar village in the Bhagta Bhaika area on Monday evening.

The suspects have been identified as Soni Tharaj, Jeeta Singh, Naresh and Resham Singh.

Inspector Rajinder Kumar, incharge, Bhagta police post, said deceased’s son Gurbinder Singh had told the police that they had more than 150 goats and as per their routine, he, along with his father, took them near the water channel for fodder on Monday evening. The Inspector said the deceased’s son told them that when they were returning, Soni and Resham, residents of Chowdhary Singhwala, asked his father to give goats on credit.

According to Gurbinder, when his father refused, the suspects exchanged heated arguments and Soni assaulted his father.

He said he managed to run away from away from the spot and thereafter, he reached the spot with his relatives and villagers, but his father was not there. Gurbinder said the body of his father was recovered the water channel in the village on Tuesday morning.
