The police on Saturday booked four contractors of a cycle stand for allegedly assaulting a person.

The police said the accused were threatening the complainant to shut his cycle stand as it was causing losses to their cycle stand near the bus stand.

“Complainant Gurpreet Singh and the accused are running two cycle stands near the bus stand and their competition was causing losses to each other. On Saturday evening, accused Gurdit Singh, Waheguru Singh, Najam Singh and Nima attacked Gurpreet. We have registered a case and are probing the matter,” said ASI Gian Singh, posted at the Barnala police station.
