Four persons have been booked for allegedly creating a hurdle for a traffic cop in performing his duty here on Wednesday. Sources said two of them had been detained, but the police were yet to confirm it.

Bhagwant Singh, a traffic cop, said, “I was performing duty on Kairon Road on Wednesday evening when four persons came on a bike and I stopped them to show me the documents of the bike. But they misbehaved and manhandled me.”

Sources said that some passersby, however, caught two of them and handed over to the police.

The accused have been identified as Naljinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Balkar Singh and Iqbal Singh, all residents of Ghumiara Khera village. — TNS
