Family feud: Man fires at brother-in-law

BATHINDA: Family feud turned awry when one of the members fired bullet at his relative thereby injuring him badly in Bhagu Road.

Family feud turned awry when one of the members fired bullet at his relative thereby injuring him badly here. Later, the injured was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. 

ASI Balwant Singh, Civil Lines police post, said: “Jagwant Singh, a resident of Bhagu Road was not in good terms with his wife for the past couple of months. On Thursday morning, Jagwant’s brother-in-law, Manraj Singh, a resident of Multania village, reached at their house to mediate and solve their problem. A heated verbal exchange took place between them and later Jagwant fired a bullet from his pistol on Manraj.”

The police said Manraj sustained a bullet injury on his chest. “Manraj is unconscious and undergoing treatment at Max Hospital. We will record his statement to initiate further action in the matter. The police have been conducting probe,” added ASI. Prima facie the police have termed it a case of domestic feud.
