Drunken man opens fire at NRI

Nazan Singh, a resident of Nathana, opened fire on Surinder Singh, an NRI, over some construction dispute last night. The accused was drunk when the incident took place.

The police have arrested Nazan and seized a .12 bore gun from him. As per information, Nazan wanted to install a gate towards the side of the house of the NRI. Surinder Singh, who is a resident of Canada, objected to it. Later in the night, Nazan Singh along with his relative Sukhdeep Singh, in drunken mood opened fire at the NRI. Luckily, the bullet did not hit him and he had a narrow escape.

Nathana police station SHO said Nazan Singh had been arrested, while Sukhdeep was absconding. He assured that Sukhdeep would be nabbed soon.

“The accused has been booked under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Nathana police station,” the SHO said.
