DAV College students shine in wrestling

It was a proud moment for DAV College, Bathinda, when student wrestlers, Sandeep Singh and Varinder Singh of BA I, won gold medals in the 79 kg and 70 kg categories, respectively, and Sukhpreet (BA I) won a silver in 63 kg in the Inter-College Wrestling Tournament organised at Guru Gobind Singh College, Morinda, recently.

Students have been selected for the Punjabi University team for the Inter-University Tournament. The college secured the third position in the tournament.

Principal Dr Sanjeev Sharma and vice-principal Prof Varesh Gupta congratulated the students.

Dr Sanjeev Sharma said witnessing the students excel in diverse spheres and fetching laurels to their alma mater gave further impetus to the college to work towards the holistic growth of the students.

He appreciated the sincere efforts of head of department of physical education Prof Madan Lal, Prof Kuldeep Singh and Prof Nirmal Singh. — TNS
