CUP faculty gets best research paper award

Faculty members of the Department of Economic Studies, Central University of Punjab, were awarded for excellent research paper presentation at the national conference on ‘Climate change adaptations in agriculture for sustainable livelihood’. Sandeep Kaur, assistant professor at the department, presented her research paper at the conference and received the Best Paper Presentation Award.

The conference, sponsored by the World Bank and Ministry of Rural Development, was organised by the Centre for National Resource Development and National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, in the last week of November.

Vice-Chancellor Professor RK Kohli congratulated Sandeep on her achievement and encouraged her to set new benchmarks with quality research in the field of economic studies. She said she got the award for the research paper on ‘An economic evaluation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for cotton failure region in Punjab: Can it succeed?’ during the national conference held on November 22 and November 23. The research paper is jointly written by Sandeep and her former student Harpreet Singh.
