Congress supporters celebrate Jakhar’s victory

Congress leaders and workers today celebrated PPCC president Sunil Jakhar’s thumping victory in the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypoll by distributing sweets outside the Finance Minister and local MLA Manpreet Badal’s office in the city.

They also violated High Court directions by bursting firecrackers during the celebration. Congress leaders said it was the victory of the Congress government’s policies and the work done in the past six months.

People have rejected the ‘anti-people’ policies of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre, they added. Congress leaders Jaijeet Singh Johal, Mohan Lal Jhumba, Pawan Mani, Rattan Rahi, Ashok Kumar and others were present on the occasion. TNS
