CJM holds meeting with bank officials

On the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and under the aegis of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Mohali, Manila Chugh, Civil Judge (SD)/CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda, on Sunday held a meeting with bank managers of all the nationalized as well as private banks.

The meeting was held in view of upcoming National Lok Adalat, which is to be held on September 8.

The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda, urged the general public that they should take benefit of the Lok Adalat because resolving cases through Lok Adalats helped save on time as well as money. Moreover, the award passed in the Lok Adalat is final and non-appealable. The parties can get the court fees refunded if they have filed court fee in recovery suits etc. If any person is interested in getting his case settled in the National Lok Adalat, then he can move separate application in the court concerned where the case is pending and after issuing notice to the opposite party, the case can be settled as per terms acceptable to both the parties. — TNS
