Faridkot, July 10

Four days after taking three Sacha Sauda Dera followers in custody, the CBI team, probing three sacrilege incidents of 2015 in the district, on Tuesday visited the houses of two dera followers at Kotkapura and Daggu Romana village of Faridkot.

The CBI sleuths questioned the family of Shakti Singh at Daggu Romana and Sukhjinder Singh Sunny at Kotkapura for more than two hours.

Sources said the CBI team members collected the handwriting samples of Sukhjinder Singh’s wife, a constable with the Punjab Police.

After getting the custody of three dera followers — Mohinder Pal Bittu, Sunny and Shakti Singh — the CBI team had produced all these suspected accused before the CBI court in Mohali on July 6 and got their custodial remand for seven days.

The three were arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Punjab Police last month in an arson case (damaging public property in Moga).
