Barnala, August 10

While posing as customers, three unidentified persons snatched a car at gunpoint from a car dealer of Barnala after thrashing him.

Complainant Pankaj Jain, who deals in old cars and runs a shop at Barnala, has alleged that on Thursday around 11.30 am, three unidentified persons came to his shop located near Bajakhan T-point.

The accused started inquiring about different vehicles and said they wanted to purchase a used car.

They asked Pankaj for a trial of a Sonata car, which was parked at his shop. With Pankaj, they took the car to a drain on Khudi road. But after reaching there, they allegedly attacked Pankaj and threw him out of the car.

They came out of the car, snatched Rs 1,500 and mobile phone from Pankaj at gunpoint and fled with the vehicle, he said.

“On the complaint of Pankaj Jain, we have registered a case against three unidentified persons under Sections 382 and 427 of the IPC and have started investigation,” said ASI Gurdeep Singh, posted at the Barnala (City) police station.
