Car seized during encounter of gangsters identified

Bathinda, February 15

A Swift car recovered by the Punjab Police from Hindu Kotmall village in Shri Ganganagar district (Rajasthan) during the encounter of notorious gangsters Vicky Gounder, Prema Lahoria and Sawinder Singh, was today identified by Rajinder Singh, SDO of Powercom as he was owner of the car.

Vicky Gounder and his aides were using the car with a fake number plate by removing the actual number (PB-03-AJ-9600).

A team of the Nehianwala police station today visited Shri Ganganagar with SDO Rajinder Singh and he identified the car with engine and chassis number.

It was snatched from him just in front of the Nehianwala police station on November 11. After this, SDO Rajinder Singh started the legal process to take the possession of the car.

Both Bathinda and Rajasthan police confirmed the development. Superintendant of Police, Shri Ganganagar, Harinder Mahavar, said after the legal process, the car would hand over to its owner.

Earlier, it was believed by the Bathinda police that Harsimranjeet Singh Sema, a gangster who was in the custody of Faridkot police, looted the car from Bathinda and handed it over to Vicky Gounder in Yamunanagar.

Vicky used it for escaping as his one Fortuner car was damaged in a road accident and his second Fortuner car was seized by the police from a Shasrolli farm house in Yamunanagar.

After this, Sema went to Dehradun and he was arrested by the Faridkot police after a few days. Vicky Gounder was killed in a police encounter last month at Hindu Kotmall village in Rajasthan.

Two unidentified persons snatched the Swift Dzire car on November 11, 2017 at gunpoint. According to police sources, the Bathinda police will take the remand of gangster Sema regarding the case.

A case was registered at the Nehianwala police station against unidentified persons after the car loot incident.
