Bathinda: A family returning from a wedding met with an accident as their car rammed into a divider near lake number 3 on Goniana road on Sunday night. According to information, the incident took place 2 am and the car was badly damaged in the crash. A woman traveller has suffered leg fracture. She has been identified as Dimple Kansal (35), resident of Partap Nagar in the city. It is also learnt that the injured was rushed to Civil Hospital by volunteers of NGO Naujawan Welfare Society. Eight loot cases solved, Two held 

Muktsar: The Muktsar police on Monday claimed to have solved eight loot incidents in the past about two years with the arrest of two persons. Those arrested have been identified as Amardeep Singh and Onkar Singh of Chak Gandha Singh Wala village. The police said the suspects, along with their accomplices, had looted Rs 63,000 from an employee of a finance company recently. The police claimed to have seized Rs 47,000, a pistol, six cartridges and a stolen motorcycle from them. TNS

32 get licence to sell crackers

Muktsar: The district administration on Monday allotted temporary licence to 32 vendors to sell firecrackers. Notably, these vendors were selected through a draw of lots. As many as 232 applications were received by the administration. The administration has earmarked seven places in Muktsar subdivision, four in Malout subdivision and two in Gidderbaha to set up temporary firecracker markets. TNS
