Car driver booked for assaulting cops

BATHINDA: The Kotwali police today booked an unidentified driver of a Tavera car for assaulting two traffic officials yesterday, who were on duty at Fauji Chowk.

The Kotwali police today booked an unidentified driver of a Tavera car for assaulting two traffic officials yesterday, who were on duty at Fauji Chowk.

In a complaint lodged by constable Brij Lal of city traffic wing, it has been stated that he was with head constable Darshan Singh yesterday when two cars (Verna and Tavera) collided.

Occupants of both cars started assaulting each others. When the police officials attempted to control them, the driver of Tavera (CH-03-V-4654) assaulted the former.

Investigating officer Sukhjinder Singh said a case under Sections 323, 353 and 186 of the IPC has been registered at the Kotwali police station and the accused would be held soon.
