Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said Capt Amarinder Singh should get ready to resign from the post of Chief Minister.

Replying to a query regarding Capt’s warning to Cabinet ministers and MLAs to ensure party’s victory on all 13 seats or face action, Sukhbir said, “He should stick to his stand and not back out now. The Congress will lose Patiala too, thus Amarinder should get ready to resign from the post of CM as well.”

Notably, the Chief Minister had issued a warning on Wednesday that the ministers in state who do not succeed in ensuring a victory for the Congress, especially in the constituencies they represent, will be dropped from the Cabinet.

In case of MLAs, it had been decided that those who failed to perform in their constituencies would not be considered for tickets in the next Assembly elections, the diktat had further stated.

Sukhbir further said the Congress government had failed in the state. “Amarinder does not know how to run the state government. This is a complete failure. They will ruin the state.”

Meanwhile, speaking on AAP candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency Bhagwant Mann’s recent allegations, the former deputy Chief Minister said, “He is a frustrated man and is losing his seat.”

Earlier, Sukhbir called on three-time SGPC member Gurpal Singh Gora at his native village Fakkarsar here. The latter had recently returned to the SAD fold.

Zira MLA says CM’s warning due to activities of one MLA

Without naming anyone, Congress MLA from Zira Kulbir Singh said Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s warning letter to all MLAs was because of the actions of party MLA from Ferozepur. “This MLA from Ferozepur has always backstabbed the party and the warning letter was issued just because of him. Such people, whether he is an MLA or a minister, should be thrown out from the party,” he said. Notably, Kulbir had campaigned in some villages of Lambi in favour of Congress candidate Amrinder Singh ‘Raja Warring’ on Wednesday.
