Bathinda: A jail inmate was injured in a clash between two groups of prisoners at the Central Jail here on Tuesday. According to sources, the two groups clashed over the issue of taking bath first. The jail staff had a tough time in controlling them. The injured jail inmate has been identified as Harpreet Singh, who was taken to a government hospital on Wednesday for a medical examination. Investigating officer Bindar Singh said Harpreet had sustained injuries on his head and one of the eyes. He said they were awaiting medical reports before initiating further action in the incident. Woman addict’s death: 1 held  

Bathinda: The police on Wednesday arrested an orchestra owner, identified as Seema, in connection with the death of a 22-year-old woman, who was said to be an addict, at the Civil Hospital here on Tuesday. The deceased used to work in the orchestra of Seema who had allegedly pushed her into the scourge of drug addiction. A case under Section 304 of the IPC has been registered against Seema and Gagan, an orchestra employee, at the Canal Colony police station. SSP Nanak Singh confirmed the arrest of Seema and said Gagan was undergoing treatment in Faridkot. TNS
