Barnala, July 12

To provide effective e-governance facilities to the common man, the district administration has launched its revamped website, barnala.gov.in, which is readable to visually impaired people also. The NIC, Barnala, has connected its website with the S3WAAS platform.

Barnala Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta said S3WAAS (secure, scalable and sugam website as a service) provided facilities like GIGW compliance, generic search, responsive design, etc. He also informed that all the content had been published in Bi-Lingual format, English and Punjabi.

“The website can now be accessed by visually-impaired people by using the speaking software, which is easily installable on all computer systems. The colour blindness problem has been redressed by this website and provides the feature of changing the contrast to enable colour blind people access this website,” said Gupta after re-launching the website.

He said Assistant Commissioner (General), Barnala, Mankanwal Singh Chahal, PCS and District Informatics Officer (DIO) Barnala Neeraj Garg and their team had worked hard to make Barnala the second district in the state to achieve this target.

“The data on the website will be regularly updated and new features added in the future to provide effective Government to Citizen Services to the common man of the district,” said the DC.
