Bathinda, October 15

Two persons were killed in two road accidents that took place in the city and at Jagga Ram Tirath village.

In the first incident, a person was found unconscious at the Behman road after he fell down from an Active scooter. Some residents took him to the Civil Hospital with the help of volunteers of a local NGO. Doctors declared him dead at the hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Jasveer Singh, a resident of Partap Nagar. He was working as head cashier in Indian Overseas Bank at Muktsar.

In the other incident, a person was killed in a road accident that took place at Jagga Ram Tirath village in Talwandi Sabo sub-division. In a complaint lodged by Malkeet Singh, a resident of Jevan Singh Wala, it has been alleged that his uncle Joginder Singh was going on his motorcycle (PB-03AL-8556) near Jagga Ram Tirath village on October 9.

A person on a motorcycle without number hit his uncle’s bike near a canal at the village, he said.

The accused driver, Amandeep Kumar, a resident of the same village, was allegedly driving rashly, he added. His uncle was injured seriously and was admitted to a private hospital, where he died yesterday.

Investigating officer Hardeep Singh said a case under Sections 304A and 279 of the IPC had been registered against Amandeep Kumar, who is absconding.
