Displaying immense courage, a woman foiled a robbery attempt by an unidentified person at her residence in the Birla Mill Colony at around 3.45 pm on Tuesday.

A complaint lodged by Uma Gupta, a resident of Birla Mill, stated that when she was alone at home, some unknown person entered her house and with an intention to rob. When he discovered her at home, he started beating her up after which she shouted for help. He then got scared and fled from the spot.

Investigating officer Rajpal said on the basis of the woman’s statement, the police had registered a case under Section 458 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigation was underway. No arrest has been made so far, as the accused has not yet been identified.
