Admn holds rally against drug abuse

BATHINDA: The district administration today organised a rally on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The district administration today organised a rally on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra flagged off the rally from government school near Mall Road.

Students of many schools and members of local NGOs of the city took part in the rally.

SSP Naveen Singla and ADC Shena Agarwal were present on the occasion.

The rally concluded at the sports stadium after passing through the main markets of the city.

DC Diprava Lakra said, “Our fight is against drugs. On this day, we want to make people aware of the disastrous effects of drugs.”

SSP Naveen Singla said police had taken strict action against drug peddlers.

Around 250 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act.

The police have started the process of attaching the properties of drug peddlers.

The SSP appealed to the people to help them and give information about drug peddlers.

Local NGOs also organised rallies in different parts of the city.
