63 candidates in fray for six seats

BATHINDA: After scrutiny of the nomination papers of 110 candidates aspiring to contest elections in six Assembly constituencies of the district, only 63 candidates remained in the fray today.

After scrutiny of the nomination papers of 110 candidates aspiring to contest elections in six Assembly constituencies of the district, only 63 candidates remained in the fray today.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ghansham Thori said in the Rampura Phul constituency, of 21 nominations, 14 candidates were in fray. In Bhucho, of 15 nominations, seven candidates are in the fight.

He said in the Bathinda (Urban) constituency, of 23 nominations, only 13 candidates had made it to the contest.

In Bathinda (Rural), of 16 nominations, nine candidates remained in the fight. In Talwandi Sabo, of 19 candidates, only nine have made it while in Maur, of 16 candidates, only 11 are in the fray.

For the Bathinda (Urban) seat, SAD candidate Sarup Chand Singla, Manpreet Singh Badal of the Congress, AAP’s Deepak Bansal, Democratic Swaraj Party’s Gian Chand Bansal, APP’s Jatinder Roy Khattar, BSP’s Suresh Kumar, Bhujan Mukti Party’s Sant Lal, Hindustan Shakti Sena’s Sukhchain Singh, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’s Hardeep Kumar, SAD (A)’s Harvinder Singh, Shiv Sena’s Parveen Hitashi, independent candidates Satish Kumar and Bimla Rani are fighting the elections.

For the Talwandi Sabo Assembly seat, SAD’s Jeetmohinder Singh Sidhu, AAP’s Baljinder Kaur, Congress’ Khushbaz Singh Jattana, SAD (A)’ Avtar Singh, APP’ Varinder Singh and independent candidates Karamjit Singh, Darshan Singh and Baljinder Singh are contesting the elctions.

For the Maur Assembly seat, Congress’ Harminder Singh Jassi, SAD’s Janmeja Singh Sekho, AAP’s Jagdev Singh, TMC’s Taranpal Singh, BSP’s Dushera Singh, APP’s Harpal Singh, SAD (A)’s Parminder Singh and independent candidates Sukhraj Singh Natt, Harvinder Singh, Binderpal Kaur and Bhupinder Singh Gora are in the poll fight.

For the Bathinda (Rural) seat, Congress’ Harvinder Singh Laddi, SAD’s Amit Rattan Kotfatta, AAP’s Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Indian Communist Party’s Surjit Singh Sohi, TMC’s Jagtar Singh, BSP’s Davinderpal Singh, APP’s Jaswinder Singh Gill and independent candidates Jagsir Singh and Gursewak Singh are in the fray.

For the Rampura Phul seat, SAD’s Sikander Singh Maluka, Congress’ Gurpreet Singh Kangar, AAP’s Manjit Singh Sidhu and independent candidates Sikander Singh, Simarjit Singh, Karamjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Charan Singh, Jaswant Singh, Paramjit Singh and Manjit Singh are fighting the elections.

For the Bhucho seat, SAD’s Harpreet Singh, Congress’ Pritam Singh, TMC’s Surinderpal, AAP’s Jagsir Singh, BSP’s Mumtaz and independent candidates Kiranjit Singh Gehri and Baldev Singh are contesting the election.
