Faridkot: After a six-year-old child disappeared under mysterious circumstances on the way from his school to his house at Arianwala village of Faridkot on Wednesday afternoon, the police have started an investigation. It is alleged that the boy, Happy, son of a daily wager and Class II student in a government primary school in the village, was returning home from the school when two persons on a motorcycle offered him lift. Once the boy agreed, they took him to an unknown place. The police are investigating the matter, said Jastinder Singh, DSP, Faridkot. Sources said a CCTV camera installed at the village has captured the images of the motorcycle riders and the clipping of these images has been handed over to the police and uploaded on the social media to identify the accused, believed to be a couple. Bull attack: HC notice to MC

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday issued notice of a motion to the Bathinda Local Bodies Department and Municipal Corporation on a writ petition seeking Rs 30 lakh compensation for a businessman in coma since September 2016 due to a bull attack. Justice Rajiv Narain Raina fixed August 18 as the next date of hearing on the petition filed by victim Ramesh Kumar’s wife Sukhwinder. Her counsel Hari Chand Arora said Ramesh Kumar was immediately admitted to the Bathinda Civil Hospital, from where he was referred to a trauma centre. He was kept there for more than three weeks before eventually being discharged in a state of coma. TNS
