Two cases of snatching were reported in the city in the last 24 hours.

In the first case, two persons snatched a purse from a woman on the Santpura road in the city.

In the complaint lodged by Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Vishal Nagar, it has been stated that his wife Sapna was walking on the road when two persons — Nachatar Singh, a resident of Awa Basti and Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sanjay Nagar — snatched her purse.

He said the purse contained a mobile phone, sunglasses, voter id card and cash nearly Rs 6,000.

The Kotwali police have registered a case under Section 379A of the IPC against the accused.

In another case, Sahil Garg, a resident of Malout, was walking near Children’s Park when two unidentified persons came on a motorcycle and took away his mobile phone and cash from him after flashing a knife.

The Civil Lines police have registered a case under Section 382 of the IPC against the accused.
