Bathinda, June 23
Two persons died and four others were injured in two separate road accidents here on Saturday.
In the first mishap, Baldev Singh (28) and Kulwant Singh (25), both residents of Badal village, died after a Mahindra pick-up jeep in which they were travelling collided with a car near Chak Attar Singhwala village.
Amritpal Singh and Navjot Singh, both residents of Kheo Wali village in Muktsar, who were in the car, suffered injuries and they were admitted to a private hospital in the city. Their condition is said to be critical. The car and jeep were damaged badly after the collision.
ASI Nandgarh Major Singh, said, “The car was coming at a high speed and it lost its balance and after crossing the divider, it collided with a Mahindra pick-up jeep. We are investigating the matter and statements of the inured will be recorded once their condition is normal.”
SHO Suneel Kumar, said, “Prima facie it appears that the car was being driven rashly.”
In another road accident near Kot Shamir village, two persons were injured after their car rammed into a tree along the road.
Bagga Singh and his son Gurdev Singh, both residents of Burj Hari Singh village in Mansa, injured in the mishap and they were admitted to the Civil Hospital.
