Two cases of crime against women have been reported in the city. In the first case, a women resident of Guru Nanakpura Mohalla has lodged a complaint against four persons — Gurjit Singh, Jagir Singh, Balla Singh and Lucky Singh — residents of the same area for allegedly abusing, threatening, assaulting and passing lewd remarks on her over some old rivalry.

A case under sections 323,354 A, 506 and 34 of the IPC has been registered.

In another case, a person beat up her sister over ignoring their parents’ advice.

In a complaint lodged by Suresh Rai, father of the victim, he has stated that his son hit the head of his daughter on wall with a motive to kill her. A case under Sections 307 and 323 of the IPC has been registered at the Canal Colony police station. — TNS
