2 booked for admission fraud

The police have booked two persons for duping a Rampura Phul resident by taking Rs 10 lakh from him for arranging the admission of his two children at RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

In his complaint, Narinder Bansal stated that the accused Gurpreet Singh of Namdev Nagar and Rajneesh Kumar of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Bathinda, assured admission for his two children in MBBS course in lieu of Rs 10 lakh.

The money was given to the accused at Sai Institute, situated on Namdev Road in Bathinda.

Investigating Officer (IO) Nirmal Singh said a case was registered against the duo at the Civil Lines police station under Section 420 of the IPC.

He said though no arrest had been made in this regard so far, the accused had been booked after a detailed enquiry conducted by senior police officials.
