187 take part in wushu c’ship

The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bathinda, and the district wushu association, Bathinda, organised the district-level 11th sub junior, junior and senior wushu championship in the city. Around 187 players participated in the event.

In the 22-25 kg category, Amitoj Singh Chatha of Saint Paul’s High School bagged a gold medal and DPS student Piyush Bhardwaj won silver medal.

In the 22 kg category, Himashu Goyal of Sanawar School bagged a gold and Navi Sidhu of NFL School bagged a silver medal.

In the 25 to 28 kg category, Gurmanpreet Singh of Guru Harkrishan Public School got a gold medal and Abhi Raj Shankar Shinde of Army School won a silver medal. In 40 to 44 kg, Bhaviya Rawal of St Xaviers School got gold and Chetan Verma of Saint Pauls High School bagged silver medal.

In 45 kg, Both Rahul Kumar and Daljit Singh of Guru Harkrishan Public School won a gold and a silver medal, respectively.

In 65-70 kg, Harshit Bansal of St Xavier’s School won gold and Gurpreet Singh of Dasmesh Public School won a silver medal.
