Bathinda: A 17-year-old girl was raped by a resident of the Sukhpeer road area who allegedly enticed her on the pretext of marriage. In a complaint lodged by the victim, it has been stated that accused Sandeep took her to an isolated place and raped her. Investigating officer SI Seema said the girl had said for the last six months, Sandeep, who stayed near her house, had been harassing her. She said, “We got the medical examination of the girl conducted.” A case under Sections 376 and 354-D of the IPC and Section 4 of the POSCO Act 2012 has been registered against the accused at the Canal Colony police station. Bathinda: The District Bar Association (DBA) honoured Jasdeep Singh Walia who recently joined as Senior Deputy Advocate General of Punjab in the Advocate General office in Chandigarh. A 

tea party was organised by the association today in the Bar room. President of the Bar Association advocate RS Jalal said Jasdeep Singh Walia was honest, had good reputation and was dedicated to his profession. Jalal also honoured Atinder Pal Singh Jaurkian, who has also joined as Assistant Advocate General, Punjab. Jasdeep Walia thanked the members of the Bar Association for their support. Advocate Anil Jain, Mithu Ram Gupta, Surinder Pal Sharma, Chiranji Lal Garg and district attorney Sukhpal Singh Gill were also present at the function. TNS
