16,000-litre ‘lahan’ destroyed

Muktsar: The Kabarwala police on Monday destroyed nearly 16,000-litre 'lahan' at Kattianwali village. The police said they had received a tip-off that some persons were preparing hooch along a canal in the village. Acting on it, a raid was conducted. However, those involved in it managed to flee. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard. TNS

Students shine in youth festival

Bathinda: Students of Mata Sahib Kaur Girls College, Talwandi Sabo, have performed well in the Bathinda Zonal Youth Festival 2019 organised by Punjabi University. Students participated in around 25 individual and eight group items. The students won the overall trophy in literary items by winning the first position in elocution and third in quiz. TNS
