13 held for taking illegal possession

The police have arrested 13 persons for taking illegal possession of land in two cases.

In the first incident, the police arrested three persons for taking illegal possession of land near Rambagh here. Complainant Ashok Kumar of Bucho Mandi told the police that Jassu of Kotshamir, Vikram Singh of Lal Singh Basti, Praveen Kumar of Partap Nagar, Arshdeep Singh of Bathinda and three unidentified persons encroached upon his land on the rear of Rambagh. He said they also issued threats to him. Vikram, Praveen and Arshdeep Singh have been arrested. The police also seized a weapon from them. A case under Sections 447, 506 and 149 of IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against them at the Kotwali police station.

In the second incident, the police have arrested 10 persons for taking illegal possession of land.

Complainant Hardev Kaur of Gurusar village told the police that on November 17, Jagtar Singh of Gurusar; Gurpreet Singh, Avtar Singh and Gursewak Singh, all residents of Dhan Singh Wala; Ramandeep Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Gurnaib Singh of Mehraj; Gole Kaur of Gurusar; and three unidentified persons came to her fields with weapons and ploughed it to take its illegal possession.

A case under Sections 447, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Sections 25,54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered at the Dyalpura police station. However, Gole Kaur has not been arrested till date.
