BARNALA: Tej Partap Singh Phoolka, a 2009-batch IAS officer, took the charge as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Barnala here at the District Administrative Complex on Thursday.

Tej Partap Singh Phoolka, a 2009-batch IAS officer, took the charge as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Barnala here at the District Administrative Complex on Thursday. The previous DC, Dharam Pal Gupta, has been posted as Chief Administrator of the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority, SAS Nagar.

Earlier, Phoolka was working as Special Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department. He was holding additional charge of Chief Administrator of PUDA. After taking the charge, Phoolka said besides speedy redressal of public grievances, he would also ensure the proper delivery of various social welfare schemes’ benefit to area residents.

“Besides good governance, I will also make my best efforts to ensure maximum participation of voters in the upcoming elections. The administration has been committed to organise the elections in a peaceful, fair and transparent way,” he added.— TNS
