‘Govt to bear expenses of assault victim’s treatment’

FARIDKOT : A day after Sukhpal Singh Khaira reached Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital here to enquire about the health of Meena Rani of Muktsar, who was allegedly beaten up by supporters of a councillor last week, Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday reached the hospital to meet her.

A day after Sukhpal Singh Khaira reached Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital here to enquire about the health of Meena Rani of Muktsar, who was allegedly beaten up by supporters of a councillor last week, Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday reached the hospital to meet her.

On Tuesday, Channi announced that the state government would bear the entire cost of the treatment of Meena Rani. The minister assured the victim that the state government stands by her and the culprits would not be spared. A councillor and his supporters had allegedly beaten up Meena Rani in Muktsar last week. — TNS
