Youth dies in road mishap

A biker, identified as Bachitar Singh, died in a road mishap near Mahal village here on Monday. His friend Harjit Singh has sustained severe injuries. Their bike was hit by an Army truck. The police have booked the truck driver, Vipul Inguwale, of Maharashtra in this connection. He has been released on bail.

Pal Singh, brother of the deceased, stated to the police that Bachitar and his friend were going to Mahal village from Ajnala road. When they turned towards Mahal village, an Army truck ran over Bachitar. He was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. A case under Section 304-A of the IPC has been registered.
