Amritsar Startups, an initiative by city-based young entrepreneur Rishab Mahajan, Statusbrew and City On Pedals hosted Thursday Meetup, a session of brainstorming and lively interactions between the community members, who take the lead to make the participants aware of the tips and tricks in the fields they specialise in. It was a session for exchange of ideas that had mostly young, aspiring entrepreneurs in attendance.

This week’s MeetupThursdays workshop was held by Drishti Nanda, a MasterChef Season 4 finalist and culinary entrepreneur from city. Nanda has earned recognition with her stint at the food reality show and now owns her own brand of bakery and restaurant. The participants got hands-on experience with learning special recipes from Drishti, including cupcakes, eclairs and chocolate mousse. She also spoke about the scope and opportunities for a professional chef and nuances of running a food business.

Rishab, the co-host for the event, a startup enthusiast as he is part of two home grown startups, Statusbrew and City On Pedals. “Amritsar Startups’ members include startups entrepreneurs, small business owners, bloggers, artists, angel, and accredited investors, venture capital managers, crowd funding experts, and people looking to enjoy the benefits of working in the city’s best organisations or being their own boss. Through MeetupThursdays, we aim to connect to startup venture specialists and entrepreneurs, who have knowledge of industry and are ready to share it with other likeminded people,” he said.
