The PG department of mass communication and video production organised a workshop on the occasion of World Photography Day at DAV College here on Monday.
The aim was to help amateurs to learn the technicalities involved in the field of photography. Lovedeep Sohal, photographer and video director in the Punjabi film Industry, was the key resource person during the event. Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar, along with Dr Arif Nazir, head of MCVP department, gave a floral welcome to the guest.
Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar said such workshops helped in developing the overall personality of students. Such kinds of platforms helped students in getting hands-on training to experience different modes of cameras. He appreciated the department for organising such events for students.
Dr Arif Nazir said the department always strived hard to provide best practical and theoretical knowledge to students. He said World Photography Day was the celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography. Such celebrations simply inspired many amateur photographers from around the world to disseminate their idea of a single picture with their single purpose, yet motivating multiple minds to think different.
Briefing students about the technicalities of photography, Lovedeep Sohal explained all the technical concepts of photography like the concept of exposure triangle, mainly shutter, aperture and ISO, role of focus, focal length and white balance plus different working modes of cameras.
