Workshop on data science

The seven-day national workshop on ‘Data Sciences: Theory and Practice’ concluded at Khalsa College on Monday. Organised by the post graduate department of computer science and applications, the workshop had experts discussing the vital issues of changing computer technology and its impacts. The deliberations highlighting the utilisation of big data, including artificial intelligence, data storage and management is emerging as a separate subject, said Hardeep Singh, head, department of computer science, GNDU. He also focused on gaining knowledge about how data science can assist in finding solutions to data mining, safety of the data and artificial intelligence. — TNS
