Two more packets of heroin seized from border outpost

Yet again, personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) have seized two more packets of heroin from the Uddhar Dhariwal border outpost, Ex- 88 Bn BSF, Amritsar sector, today.

Yesterday, an attempt to smuggle the drug was thwarted by the BSF. Two packets of the contraband, weighing 4 kg, were recovered from the spot. According to the information, the search of surrounding was still on.

Deputy Commandant, BSF (Punjab Frontier), NP Negi, said at 0810 hrs, BSF Khura checking party in the area, which falls under the Uddhar Dhariwal border outpost, seized two more packets weighing 2 kg of the contraband, suspected to be heroin.

Suspicious activity of smugglers was noticed on the intervening night of August 20-21 at 0010 hours when a BSF sentry on duty heard sound of something throw over the border security fence. “Thereafter, a search operation was conducted. Today, two more packets were found lying abandoned near the zero line of border security fence,” added Negi.
