Two illegal buildings sealed

The central zone of the Municipal Town Planning wing of the Municipal Corporation (MC) sealed two "illegal" buildings in the walled city here on Wednesday.

A team, led by Paramjit Singh, visited the Sheran Wala Gate area and sealed the under-construction buildings. “Earlier, we had stopped them from carrying out construction activities, but the building owners didn’t follow our instructions. So we sealed the buildings and issued warning to owners. In case they break the seal, further action will be taken. A police complaint will also be registered,” said Inspector Paramjit Singh.

Following the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the MC had sealed more than a dozen buildings last week. MTP officials had said that no one would be allowed to carry out construction work on illegal buildings.
