Two groups of inmates had a clash at Sub Jail, Patti, leaving one of them injured late on Thursday evening. Four persons, identified as Rajanjit Singh of Amritsar, Mohit Kumar of Bhikhiwind, Amritpal Singh Heera and Gurwinder Singh, both of Pahuwind, have been booked.

The jail superintendent mentioned in his complaint that the accused attacked Kuldeep Singh, Narinder Singh, Rasal Singh and Manbir Singh lodged in the barrack number six. Kuldeep Singh was seriously injured in the attack, the police said.

Section 52-A of the Prisoners’ Act, and 323 of the Indian Penal Code have been slapped.— OC
