Training session on CBSE exam

AMRITSAR: More than 900 principals, educators in schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from Amritsar and Tarn Taran attended a CBSE training session — Examination and Evaluation 2019 at Bhavan’s SL Public School on Thursday ahead of the board examinations.

More than 900 principals, educators in schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from Amritsar and Tarn Taran attended a CBSE training session — Examination and Evaluation 2019 at Bhavan’s SL Public School on Thursday ahead of the board examinations.

Chairman Avinash Mohindru and director principal Dr Anita Bhalla of Bhavan’s Amritsar kendra welcomed the CBSE dignitaries.

Manoj Srivastava, Director CBSE, professional examinations, Chandigarh Regional Office, Dharini Arun, Vikas Arora and RP Singh, deputy secretaries, CBSE addressed the gathering.

The training session deliberated upon the process of evaluation, responsibilities of centre superintendent evaluators, guidelines for school heads, sample cases of mistakes 2018, re-evaluation cases 2018.

The experts also shared IT initiatives for board exams. RP Singh, Deputy Secretary, CBSE, said, “The CBSE has come up with a mobile application CBSE ECL (Exam centre locator) to help students to locate their examination centre.” Singh also discussed provisions for differently abled candidates and other important aspects.

Manoj Srivastava said, “We want to disseminate right information to our students via such interactions. The board has also come with IT-driven facilities for students. They can also visit their centre of examination a day prior to avoid any confusion at the last minute.”

Dharini Arun reflected her views on the evaluation and examination process and answered queries of participants. Among prominent present included, Paramjeet Kumar, Principal DAV School, Attari Rajiv Sharma, Principal Spring Dale, Vinodita Sankhyan Principal Ram Ashram Public School, Dharamveer Singh, president Amritsar Sahodaya School Complex and others.
