Unidentified armed persons abducted a shopkeeper of Goindwal Sahib and robbed him of Rs 85,000 on Saturday night. The victim, Saudagar Singh, informed the police that he was returning to his home after closing his shop on his two-wheeler. Car-borne robbers intercepted him and forced him into their vehicle at gunpoint. The shopkeeper said the robbers were five in number. After snatching his bag, containing Rs 85,000, they threw him out of the car at the distance of two km from the spot. SI Baljinder Singh Bajwa, SHO, Goindwal Sahib, said he visited the spot for investigation. The matter is being probed, he added. — OC
