A trader was robbed by two motorcycle-borne armed persons near the Verka railway bridge here on May 30. However, he lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday following which an FIR was registered.
Vishal Madan, who runs a business of manufacturing hearing aid equipment, informed the police that he, along with his friend Atul Gupta, was going to Kangra in Himachal Pradesh in his car. They stopped near the railway bridge at Verka bypass for answering the nature’s call. He said two motorcycle-borne persons came to the spot and pointed a pistol at them and threatened to shoot if they didn’t hand over cash to them. They frisked their pockes and also took Rs 3,00,000 kept in the dashboard of the ar and fled away towards Vallah.
Shiv Kumar, investigating officer, said though they had got the information at that time, the victim had went out of station for their business.
When they returned, they recorded their statement and now a case under Sections 379B (2) and 34 of the IPC has been registered against unknown persons.
Laptop looted
Meanwhile, in another incident, two bikers snatched a man’s bag containing laptop and some important material. The victim, Parshant Kumar Dass, had returned from Jalandhar on a bus. He hired an autorickshaw from the bus stand. Later, he was going to Dhab Wasti Ram in the walled city on foot when two bike-borne persons came and snatched his bag near Chintpurni Chowk. The Division C police station has registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC.
